iCLOUD SYNC
How do I turn iCloud sync on?
Mac: Click on DayMap and then Preferences (Command + ,).
iOS: Open settings and turn iCloud sync on.
I have enabled iCloud on all my devices and nothing is happening, why?
First, make sure Documents and Data is checked in your iCloud preferences on the Mac (System Preferences – iCloud). If that does not work then turn iCloud sync off on all your devices and reenable.
Important: Backup DayMap data file first, here’s how. (Note: Version 1.6 and later automatically backs up your data. Go to the Help Menu and click on “Show Backups”)
I have updated to the latest versions of DayMap on both the Mac and iOS but iCloud is no longer syncing. What do I do?
Very simple fix if you are very lucky:
- Reboot all iCloud attached devices
- Make sure the Settings > iCloud > Documents & Data switch is turned on.
Simple fix, if you are lucky:
- Quit DayMap on all devices.
Double-click the home button
Tap-and-hold on the DayMap icon until it begins to wiggle
Tap the red minus button - Toggle the “Documents & Data” switch in Settings > iCloud > Documents & Data
Not so bad fix, if you are having no luck:
- Quit DayMap on all devices
Double-click the home button
Tap-and-hold on the DayMap icon until it begins to wiggle
Tap the red minus button - Log out of iCloud on all devices (via Settings > iCloud > Delete Account)
- Log back in to iCloud (via Settings > iCloud) and let each device sync back up.
Really terrible fix, if you are having bad luck. Contact us first before moving forward with this step.
- BACK UP ALL YOUR DAY MAP DATA! (This happens automatically on the Mac, so verify the backups are up to date)
- Quit DayMap on all devices (Actually quit/kill DayMap by a long hold in the task switcher). Or you can simply reboot your device.
- Delete/Remove the DayMap App from each device
- Delete the DayMap iCloud data via Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage > DayMap > Edit > Delete All
- Re-install DayMap via the App Store (this will be a free download since you have already purchased app)
- Add back the data from where it was backed up
6. Let the initial sync complete before installing DayMap on the remaining devices
Where is my data located?
If you have iCloud turned on in the DayMap preferences, your data is at:
/Users//Library/MobileDocuments/2WFZT4HWJN~com~whetstoneapps~daymap/DayMap.b_storedata
If you are not using iCloud, your data is at:
/Users//Library/Containers/com.whetstoneapps.daymap/data/Library/Application Support/DayMap/DayMap.b_storedata

How do I keep all of my projects and tasks from disappearing when I turn on iCloud sync?
There are two separate data files. The iCloud data file and the local data file.
When you do this, the data file which is filled with items will be copied to iCloud and all will be well.
GENERAL QUESTIONS
DayMap keeps crashing. What should I do?
This is probably a preferences issue. Locate the preferences file in the following location and put it in the trash and re-launch DayMap.
/Users/<username>/Library/Containers/com.whetstoneapps.daymap/Data/Library/Preferences/com.whetstoneapps.daymap.plist
Another way to get to the library is to click the Finder icon on the far left side of your dock and then click on Go in the Finder menu at the top. While the Go menu is in drop-down mode hold down Option on your keyboard. You will see the Library option appear. Click on the Library and follow this path - Containers/com.whetstoneapps.daymap/Data/Library/Preferences/com.whetstoneapps.daymap.plist
